1980 Cadillac Eldorado

El Dorado, Spanish, meaning

"The Gilded One"

or

"The Golden One"

Click Here to read the story on "El Dorado's" in the April 2004 Herald.

This all started with Roy’s father, Mel, driving past Fenton Motors, the Cadillac Dealer in Litchfield, MN.  A local farmer was trading in his ’82 Seville on a new Cadillac.  Mel swung in and made a deal on the spot. “Don’t even clean it up, I’ll take it as is.”

That was 1991 and Mel enjoyed the heck out of his pride and joy until his death in ’96.  Later, a nearly identical twin, Boone 2, joined this Seville, Boone 1.  You need to understand, in a past life; The Boone family was into Corvettes and had license plates Boone1 through Boone5.  Mel was Boone 1 and Roy was Boone 2.  Get it?

In 2004 a 1980 Eldorado, that had basically been stored for 20 years, found a home with the Boones. It was in excellent condition even though it showed 83,000 miles from the first 4 years of life. It was a Minnesota car that spent winters in Florida, so it's lived a salt free existence.

1982 Seville as shown at Aquatore Park, Blaine, MN - 2002 - This car was inherited from Roy's father, Mel Boone.

The shirts and menu's displayed are from "The Cadillac Diner" in Old Kissimmee, FL.

The great flood of 7/11/02, Roy's shoes are in the briefcase. By the time the car

got out of there the water was just up to the door sills and the exhaust sounded like

a motor boat as the tips were under water. Thankfully, no damage done.

Boones three Seville's at Roger Koelln's place in April 2002, two were parts cars bought

from Roger Koelln, Cadillac Consultants.
