December 2002
Well the Holidays are upon us, a great time of the year. By the time you receive this newsletter you will have already celebrated Thanksgiving. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. As for Christmas I already put my request into Santa for a 2003 Cadillac XLR, but in all reality I don’t think that will happen for quite some time. It doesn’t hurt to dream once-in-awhile.
I hope you got your classic car put away before the cold and snowy weather hit.
A reminder for you, the Clubs (NSR) annual dues will be coming due in February. The dues are $20.00 for a year. Also dues for the National Club (CLC) will be coming due in March. The dues are $30.00 for 2nd Class Mail or $40.00 for 1st Class Mail.
Our Holiday Party will be on Sunday, January 12, 2003 at 1:00 PM. The party will be at Jax Café. Please make sure you get your Party acknowledgement slip and check into Bob Campbell by Monday, January 6, 2003. Our next event will be a burger run on Thursday, February 27, 2003 at 6:30 PM at the Embers Restaurant in Maplewood, MN, in March we will be going to the Old Log Theater. The date is Sunday, March 30, 2003 at 5:00 PM. In April we will have a burger run/25th Club Anniversary Dinner. On Thursday, April 24, 2003 at 6:30 PM. we will meet at Mancini’s Restaurant. For more information on the above events please read the calendar of events.
As I mentioned in the above paragraph this coming year (2003) is our 25th Anniversary Year. We will be planning more events/items to celebrate this great event for our club. So please read your newsletter to be informed on these great events.
Our Chairperson for events, Linda Warren, is going to try something different this year for Burger runs. During the summer months she is going to schedule some of the Burger runs on a Saturday instead of Thursday. Her thinking on this is we would have more time to enjoy ourselves and wouldn’t have to rush from work to the event. She’s also thinking about having us tour a short distance with our cars before arriving at the event or restaurant. Sounds like a lot of fun and a great way to enjoy our cars.
I have one more request that some of our members, especially our newer members would write up a story on there cars or travels and send them to me or Roy Boone so we can get them into our newsletter. I really want to thank Roy Boone for all his help he has given me this past year in writing all those excellent articles and those great pictures, it’s very much appreciated.
I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a Happy New Years. That’s about all for this year, I’ll be talking to you next year.
