June 2003

IT’S YOUR CLUB!

I have a challenge for each member. Get one new person to join our club. There are a lot of owners of Cadillac’s and LaSalle’s who are not members of NSR CLC. Also, at shows and events there are people who would like to buy LaSalle’s or Cadillac’s. There is no better network than belonging to the club. Encourage them to join.

A few years ago (when I could stay up past 10 PM and would have been in favor of 2AM bar closings) I was having a drink with a cousin. When we had finished our first drinks, his comment was that we were into something good here and there was no need to quit yet. The best was yet to come. After looking back on the first five months of 2003, we, the members of the NSR, are really into something good too. 246 people have attended our events so far this year. Considering that there are about 180 members and associate members, this is an unbelievably good participation of members. The board and I thank you.

There is no better way to build a club than on a personal basis. When you attend events, you get to know people with the same interest in the types of cars you have or want to own. Let me emphasize that there is no better place to build friendships and to find information about Cadillac’s or LaSalle’s than a club event. Talking to fellow club members is great. For those of you who were not among the 246 participating members, make sure you don't miss out on the rest of the 2003 planned events. The best is yet to come! You will only be a stranger until you come to an event.

Mark your calendar on Saturday, June 28. There is a lunch tour planned with a stop at the home Stu and Karen Reamer. They have one of best badge collections in the country. There was a nice article by Stu in the 'Old Cars Weekly' recently about a Reo badge. From there it is on to the Victoria House for lunch to end the tour. Plan on spending 3-4 hours. Hope to see many of you there!
