May 2003

We had a great turnout for the 25th Anniversary Party. We had 77 people turn-out for this event. That’s the largest turnout for a club event ever. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed some great food. I enjoyed meeting some of the founding members of the club. I’m not going to say any more about the 25th Anniversary Party, because next month Earl Faulkner Sr. is going to write a story about this great event. Next month’s issue of The Herald will be a 25th Anniversary Edition.

By now I hope everyone has been able to get their cars out, tuned up and even a coat of wax on them. Then all you have to do is get into the car and drive it to the many car events. What fun!

Talking about driving our cars remember the Spring Tour on Saturday, May 10, 2003. Details are located in the calendar of events section. These tours are always fun and you get to enjoy some great people. Our next burger run is on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at Santorin’s Restaurant at 6:30PM.

There will be a board meeting on Thursday, May 15, 2003 at the St. Louis Park City Hall. Meeting starts at 7:00PM. All members are welcome. This is a way to find out more about your club and to get evolved in your club.

Coming up in June is the All GM car Show. The Date is Sunday, June 8, 2003. Duane Warren is still looking for some volunteers to help at this event. If you would like to volunteer contact Duane Warren, 763-420-7980. This is our moneymaker for the club. The work is easy and usually only last about one hour. If you don’t want to work still come out to the State Fairgrounds and park your car with the rest of the club members cars. This year we will be parking our cars on Machinery Hill. They have torn-out the racetrack where they use to hold the All GM Car Show. This is a great way for the newer members to get acquainted with the rest of the club members. And what better way to spend a day looking at a large number of fine looking cars.

I hope you look at the Cadillac Neon Wall Clock flyer in the newsletter. This is a beautiful looking clock. The clock is 15” diameter, has a chrome frame around the clock, it has the new Cadillac emblem on the face of the clock and around the face is a red neon light. The price of the clock is $55.00. You can pick-up the clock at anyone of our events. If you want it shipped to your residence there is a $8.00 shipping and handling charge. I’ve seen clocks like these priced much higher. If you want to order one use the order form on the bottom of the clock flyer and send it to Jan Gerecke.

Well that’s about all for now. I have to get outside and put some more wax on my car. I’ll be talking to you next month.
